- 双语教学的优势 | Advantages of Bilingual Teaching -
幼儿双语教育是在幼儿阶段对孩子进行两种语言的教授,以推动孩子认知、思维、记忆等认知能力协调发育。加拿大的研究者们在上个世纪就发现,受过双语教育孩子的智力测验分数普遍偏高。他们觉得这是因为接受双语教育的儿童,要经常面对语言之间的协调问题,思考能力因此受到刺激而高度发展。而且接受双语教育的儿童拥有较强的抽象思维能力,很早就能分辨出哪些信息和问题有关系,哪些信息是无关紧要的。
Bilingual education for young kids is to teach children two languages in the early childhood stage, so as to promote the coordinated development of children's cognition, thinking, memory & other cognitive abilities. Canadian researchers have found in the last century that bilingually educated children generally have higher intelligence test scores. They discovered this is because a child who receive bilingual education often face coordination challenges between languages, and so the child's thinking ability is stimulated and becomes highly developed. Moreover, children who receive bilingual education have strong abstract thinking abilities, and can distinguish early on which information is relevant to the problem and which information is irrelevant.
语言和文化两者间有着密切关系。在学习另一种语言的时候,孩子也会在不知不觉中学到有关这种语言的文化。这种文化的学习可以丰富孩子的人生经验,为他将来融入社会打下坚实的基础。多学一门语言,孩子的交友范围会比只会一种语言的孩子广一些,朋友也会多一些。
There is a close relationship between language and culture. When learning another language, the child also unconsciously learns about the culture of that language. The learning of this kind of culture can enrich children's life experience and lay a solid foundation for them to integrate into society in the future. By learning one more language, children will have a wider range of friends than children who only know one language, and they will be more connected with the global community.

In our daycare, Chinese learning is the cornerstone of our education. Our educational philosophy is to help every student acquire bilingual communication skills in Chinese & English through well-designed Chinese immersion courses and Chinese culture learning.
